My mother has IBS with severe D. She is 89 and first got this several years ago after abdominal surgery. We would like to move her from Florida to Oregon but she is very afraid of the plane ride with IBS. does anyone have any travel tips to offer her?

My trick for traveling is to use the super strength immodium. I will take a couple of dosages of it the day before traveling and a dose the morning of travel. It seems to stop things up for a few days, but to me that is better than having D while on a plane or traveling in a car.

My way of dealing with this problem, is to request a seat near the toilets and I have to say, if I really needed to go, no "keep your seatbelt fastened" sign or Air Steward could stop me from going if I was desperate!!
Just let them try!...CJ
