Just found this group after 10 years with IBS-D. Always knew that I was not alone in my suffering, but while I am not glad that many of you have it also, it gave me a calm feeling I haven't had in years reading other posts that tell everything I've been going thru for year (scouting toilets, finding a bush, having kid's make fun of me and the ever populsr "just hold it we'll be home in an hour". I stayed at work till 5:30am reading ALL the posts then ran out to the 24 hour A&P to get some Caltrate plus (finger crossed) Thanks again to all who helped me feel "normal"

I must agree. I too had abosolutely no idea this many people were dealing with the same things. I have learned "deal" and "wait" quite well, but never really talked about it with anyone but my husband. Not out of embarrasment, but it is really not the sort of thing I would feel comfortable talking about with my co-workers. Glad you found some peace. I guess in a weird way I have to and only found this site yesterday. It has opened my eyes anyway.

Mickeyman, I'm just curious about your User Name....did you serve in WWII? Radar was a new invention then, and they called the men that ran the radar in the planes the "Mickeyman". Just curious.

Glad you have found some relief. Calcium w/Vit D was a godsend for my IBS-D!! (thanks Linda)

Mickeyman and Lazor welcome. I have been using the Caltrate Plus in the purple and white box for about 8 months now, I have way less "D-attacks" since starting and continuing use. If you have any questions or need someone to talk to, we're all here for each other. Welcome aboard!

Mickeyman comes from a love for Disney. Even though my IBS makes for some very embarissing moments there, I will not let it keep me from taking my vacation there every 2 years. I try very hard not to let my IBS affect my kids lives.

Mickeyman, glad you asked that question. I'm a newbie too and will soon try the "magic" of cal. Linda, why do you ask about the gb? Do you think the two problems are related? I think I have gb probs and have asked about a connection on a reply to charlie. I'm so new at this bb stuff I don't even know if I'm doing it right!

KM,

I do believe there is a connection to the IBS and the gall bladder. If it is not functioning properly then the digestion of you food can be a problem.

I my case after I had the gall bladder taken out it was not functioning at all the attacks of diarrhea started because the sac that holds the bile for digestion until needed is always flowing into the intestines and causes irritation and diarrhea I believe.

Email me if you like. Hope you have success with the caltrate in the purple and white box.

Linda
