I am 23 y.o male and have IBS and GERD. I have been on Prevacid since last Monday (6 days)for the GERD and Pamine (7 days) for the IBS. I am experiencing severe burning in my chest from my stomach to my throat. I am having a terrible time swallowing. I cannot taste anything. I am still also having explosive Diahrea. So, I called the on-call doc today and he suggested I continue to take Mallox and wait to see what happens. I am now in severe pain (and the Percocet I am taking is not helping at all). He said I could go to the ER, but all they would do is give me a GI cocktail (Mallox, Lidocaine, and Benadryl) and send me home. I am wondering now if I should see a new GI doc, go to my docs partner (because my doc is out of town) or what I can do. I am in so much pain I cant sleep.

PLEASE HELP!!!

Thanks,
Louis Green

Hi Louis, sorry to hear about your pain (I sure can relate to that). I think you should call your doctors partner or go to the ER. Maybe they can give you something for your pain now, and when you doctor is coming home go and see him!
take care, Mio

Get to the Gastro but stop the Mallox, Take a couple of Imodium to slow you down.Eat only Toast, Plain Rice and try some ginger ale or tea. It has worked for me before, Im male 59 years old, and have tryed everything. After you get a little in order try thre Caltrate, Do a search on this site for Lnape posts shes the expert.
