Hi everyone,
I have instant D with restaurant food(or any food for that matter) I would never eat out if it weren't for imodium. I take one or two imodiums just before I go out to eat. I find I have to take two now because I'm afaid my body is getting used to it. This usually works and gives me enough time to get home and have D. My ibs is very sensitive the littlest stimulant gives me D. I don't know if this is good for others, but for me it is my saving grace.

hope this helps,
moe

I do the same, only I take half of one every morning and again I take more when my stomach starts to feel shaky. If I am going on a car trip or somewhere where I mustn't get D then I will take 2-3 beforehand. I know it seems extreme, but it is the only way that I will leave the house.

I'm the same way. I haven't been out to eat in over a year! I'm forced to do the carry-out thing but at least it puts me in close proximity to my potty. I am glad imodium works enough for you to go out there and enjoy!!

Me too!!! I was avoiding going out to eat with friends and was getting tired of missing out on the fun. I finally decided to try some Imodium before going out and it has worked pretty well. Usually, I will take one or two (depending on how my gut is feeling) and it has worked well so far.

Hi Moe

I hear ya! When I get D and have to work 12 hour shifts, I take like 3 Imodium. Sometimes when I have to drive on a long trip I take 2. I hate having to depend on Imodium sometimes. I do take the Caltrate Plus in the Purple and White bottle, I only get my IBS-D once in awhile, the rest of the time I'm C. I swear I can't win! lol.

DITTO! Two Imm's in the morning and calcium carbonate with meals. Never go anywhere without the Immodium.

Same here! Immodium is the key ingredient in me trying to control this. Espeically when I eat out, I always take 2 immodiums before hand.

Actually if I know I'm going anywhere that day I always take 2 immodium before I leave. It's my security blanket!

I am glad I am not the only one who lives on Imodium. Like you, I have taken it for so long that I'm up to a bottle per trip anywhere now. Any suggestions are welcome, Please!!!!!!

Taking all that Immodium - doesn't it then constipate you? I take Lomotil for the same reasons - trying to avoid a problem before it happens, but then I get constipated and have another problem... a vicious circle... perhaps the Lomotil is too strong?

Hi Mika, rarely do I get constipated from taking immoduim. If I take it to go out to eat it basically makes it possible for me to stay out long enough to dine then make it home to have D. If I am travelling I literally live on it, I take around 5 a day and still manage to have a bowel movement. Our bodies are all different though.

Have you noticed a link between MSG in restaurants and IBS? I can eat the same thing in two different restaurants and only get a reaction in one of them. I seriously think it's the MSG. Have you tried MSG free restaurants?
