Oliver, So sorry to hear of your misery. I was in pain similar to yours a couple of months ago and can relate to how you are feeling.

It sounds like the Bentyl isn't working for you. It didn't work for me either. Call the doctor who prescribed the Bentyl and ask him/her to prescribe another anti spasmodic for you. There are a few out there and some will work on some people and not on others. I, unfortunately, wasn't able to find any of them that worked for me, but I hope you have better luck.

If you have the opportunity, take a long soak in a hot tub or if worse comes to worse, a bathtub filled with as hot of water as you can stand. When I was having my spell of suffering, I went to a local hot springs and soaked for a couple of hours. Something with the heat seems to help relax the entire body. A heating pad might work too, but I know that this time of year that's the last thing most of us want to use.

I hope you get some relief soon.

Chris

Oliver: Chris gave you some good advice. The Bentyl didn't work for me either. I am now taking Librax, a 'tranquilizer for your gut' and a relaxant. Call your MD! And I do take warm/hot baths, they seem to help. Take a good book in with you and try to relax. Godo luck, Karen R
