There is no easy way to stop drinking coffee. I did it in January. You just have to do what works best for you. I was experiencing very bad stomach cramps and pain and needed an endoscopy. That did it.
When I stopped, I didn't switch to decaf. I went straight to decaf teas. I can drink tea without milk or sugar. I can't drink black coffee. I later started drinking decaf. Because at the same time I stopped caffiene, I also stopped artifical sweetners, and carbonated beverages (all diet sodas.) The decaf without sweetners was so bad I just gradually lost my taste for it.
What does taste good to me, is going to a coffee shop, Barnes and Noble, etc and ordering a skinny cappachino, latte, etc. Decaf and non fat milk. Somehow the steamed and frothed milk give it a good taste. You can buy and inexpensive frother and make your own froth.

There is nothing like a good strong cup of coffee. I have had some caffienated coffee, on rare occasions and found it did not bother my stomach. I think drinking it on an everyday basis is not good for me.

All times are ET (US)
