Run, don't walk, to your doctor and ask to try Colestid 1GM tablets. The dosage is two per day and I take them with my evening meal. They have helped my IBS immensely. I also take 1 hysocosmine table per day - in the morning before eating anything. I also watch my diet. It's worth a try - hope it helps some of you. I know how miserable IBS can be.

LinD - I'm glad Colestid helped you. What are your symptoms? Are you IBS-D or IBS-D?

Okay, I wasn't going to say anything for a while, so as not to get anyone overly excited about this stuff (colestid), but I've been on it a little over 2 days and its GREAT. If this lasts, and some weird side effects don't rear their ugly heads, I'm FREE!!!!!!!!

Jade: I did not have the cramping and gas with the Colestid. Sorry to hear that. Maybe try it for a few more days and give it a chance to work.

Hello,

I don't want to douse your fire as it were, but I took Colestid for a while to try to combat this and it gave me horrible gas... worse than I was already having and it didn't do a damn thing to help me. I'm glad it has helped some, but be warned of excess gas and bloating.

JillAnne, I am with you on the Colestid. I think it has made me worse, in fact, after taking it for a week, I had the worse IBS attack that I have had for a long time and the cramps and terrible gas are worse!! I guess what works on some does not do a thing for others.
