I've often read about IBS causing pain in the lower left or right abdomen, but does anyone else have pain sort of under and between their ribs? I believe it's the transverse colon, but my doc said it's not the most common place to have the cramping pain. Feels like someone grabbed hold of the colon in the soft area between the ribs and won't let go. Very uncomfy...4 days now, but I have gotten this many times before. No attack at this time, but feeling very C, yet going once in a while. Oh joy! Aren't we blessed to have such an ever-changing incurable, life-altering disorder!!! The Librax helps some with this, but makes me feel drugged lately.

Yea pain were the ribs join together right at the bottom of the rib cage and top of the stomach.

Turns out mine is an ulcer.

Could also be an heital hernia. ( I 'm probably spelling this wrong )

Its were the stomach is being forced up through the opening to the esopogus.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I suffer from the pain right under the ribs almost every week and it last close to five days.
I can never breath when i have it, not to mention laught, caugh or sneeze.
This week it started on Thursday, and today
Monday, It's still going strong.
I wish there was something I could tell you that would make it go away, but I still haven't figured it out for myself.
I started taking levsin, but it doesn't seem to be helping in the least.
If you figure something out, PLEASE - let me know. I'm tired of this.

You're not kidding about it hurting to laugh or sneeze when this is going on, it's awful, and makes it cramp up even more. My daughter was trying to make me laugh the other day, and doing a good job, but I had to tell her to stop cause it was hurting me so badly. She said "But Mommy, laughter is the best medicine". Bless her heart, but it's not always true, especially when laughing ties your colon up in a knot. On day 5 of this now, and slightly eased up, for the moment at least.
