It depends on how bad your IBS is. I have IBS-C unless I travel or go do something new. Than I get the runs. I only take 1 a day, and so does my husband, it has helped alot with the urgency which in turn helps the fear to go too far from the bathroom. I can wait now if I have to. It's great. If I feel like it is too much I cut it in half. But you also have to becareful what you eat, no fried foods for me, exercise, water. I used to take fibercon, but after awhile it didn't work. I take a one-a-day with calcium and then I take 1 caltate plus. I feel so great I am planning a trip to drive across the US. I used to be afraid to go anywhere. Not Now! Try it PLEASE don't waste anymore time. Also I have read books self help about accepting the way you are. I accept that I may become nervious with some stuff, but I don't fight it anymore, all that fighting makes for IBS. GOOD LUCK

I take Citrucil in the mornings and since I have six small meals a day, I take my Caltrate with a meal that doesn't have any iron (calcium suppresses the absorption of iron).

Some people also take Immodium.

Then there's always a variety of herbs and vitamins - depending on your symptoms. I would recommend just browsing through past posts to see what has helped other people in your situation.
