Hi all,

I was reading some of your posts about gallbladders and I have to wonders about myself. Could someone tell me a little more specifically about symptoms that come with bad gallbladder?? Do you have D?C? Pain??

I am only 26 and can't quite believe that I would have gallbladder problems, but at this point anything is possible!!

I have pain, sometimes throbbing and sometimes stabbing, in my lower right side. It also hurts a lot of the time in the upper right, but it is a milder pain. (one I can live with) the entire area of my right abdomen is tender to the touch and I tend to think I am constipated, but really I "go" about six times a day... just a little at a time...(sorry) .. I also sometimes get pain down my right thigh and usually have this "sensation" in the RIGHT side of my rectum. (ick!sorry!) All my discomfort is on the RIGHT SIDE.... never anything besides occasional gas cramps on the left....

any ideas or info would be much appriciated!!

Ive had similar symptoms as these, but no diagnosis as of yet. In 1995, I had my appendix removed, and for a few months everything was normal until I developed a neuropathy in my right foot. Now the nerve pain and muscle weakness/joint stiffness this year involves almost my entire right side.

The progression went from just my foot (R) side to foot/calf, then to foot, calf, and back (prompting an investigation into nerve root disease or an L5 injury, but my MRIs are clear, and EMG/NCVs show nothing).

I had a sonogram done, now Im trying to convince my doctor to do further investigations but she's pushing me down the psychiatrist/elavil route. While I can understand there could be some psychological influences in disease, it disgusts me that doctors are so quick to be _so_ very stubborn.

What's peculiar to me is that most of the pain is on the right side.. Im not sure how this fits into IBS or Fibrous Myalgia, so I just started following these boards today.

I'm 25, and myself am surprised at the amount of pain and weakness I am experiencing..

Anyways, I hope that helps a little, I'll let you know more information as I come upon it,
and I'll watch the boards as well.

The sonogram I think helped the doctors to get a sense of any outright visible problems with the gall bladder, kidneys, lower part of the lung, etc etc.. I'm not sure but Im guessing there are other tests that are available to diagnose lower GI discomfort/pain.

Good luck,

Your pain and symptoms sounds very similiar to mine. My pain is mostly lower right side, sometimes a little higher near the ribs. A bit in the center also. It is a throbbing/burning pain--mostly constant--maybe spasms. I also get pain that radiates down my right leg. My doc thinks the pain is too low for gall bladder. I never have had D, only C like you-go a few times a day but not much. I did have an ultrasound but showed no stones. I have had upper and lower GIs and 2 endoscopes for stomach ulcers--all negative. I am working on a hideascan appt now with my doc. He recommended that next if the lower GI barium was neg. which it was. I have been dealing with problems for 1 year, working on diet modification but I have lots of trouble being patient. I used to get nauseous after eating fatty foods--2 minutes after I felt like throwing up. This no longers happens, but I cut down on fat a lot. Let me know how it goes and I'll do likewise. What tests have you had done? Dave

As some of you alread know I too get pain in my right side. I have daily pain over my bottom rib, the doctor(surgeon)said it was scar tissue from having my kidney removed 3 yrs ago. some days the pain starts by my rib and goes to my knee and hip or shin. sometimes my foot gets needle like feelings in it and it sometimes falls asleep too. I have had an ultrasound done on my gallbladder and it was negative. I,ve had cat scans, x-rays, blood and urine tests, colonscopy, stomach scans etc.... everything is negative.I have read a few things and I sometimes wonder if my IBS is caused by the scar tissue and kidney removal too??????? I think because I also suffer from Post Tramatic Stress the doctors think its all in my head. When I read posts like this I wonder if it isn't something else besides stress. If anyone has any information on what to do about scar tissue like mine let me know I don't even know if it has a medical name. they tell me they can't do anything for me. I can't do much for my self because of this stuff with my side. By the way HI JIllAnn how are things with you and your family :

All times are ET (US)
