Don't ask why this popped into my head, but it did. I am so jealous of the results that the C folks are getting with Caltrate Plus when all the relief I get for my C type is from MOM. I bought a small quantity of Magnesium Malate 825 mg a couple of weeks ago, but haven't worked up the nerve to try it. It says each tablet contains:
Malic Acid 825 mg
Magnesium 125 mg

and suggests 1 to 3 tablets daily with a meal as a dietary supplement. Would appreciate feedback from those of you in the know on such subjects.

I'd certainly give the magnesium a whirl, Linda, if I had "C". Just be careful you don't go over the maximum dosages daily....and adjust according to your response to it.
Calcium isn't the complete answer-- my last three days attest to that. What would cure me is "empty nest syndrome"!!!

Malic acid and magnesium are very good for people with fibromyalgia.

LindaB,

I'd give it a shot. The active ingredient in MOM is magnesium. I agree with Janice too. Calcium is not a magic bullet that cures the IBS-D. But it does help to manage it.

I would try the magnesium if I had the C type but do it very slowly is could put you in the bathroom like us d types without the calcium.
