I'm new to this board, and the 'chocolate' posting caught my eye. As I read on, and on, and on, your point-counterpoint exchange has me shaking my head. I've come to realize from reading hundreds of questions and SUGGESTIONS from fellow sufferers, that this is such a unique syndrome - it seems to effect different people differently - it would appear even many doctors try in despair to give general advice hoping it will help. In my opinion, chocolate, types of chocolate, quantities eaten of chocolate, frequency of chocolate eaten, etc etc. affects each of us differently. Some effects have nothing to do with IBS and some have everything to do with it. PLEASE QUIT ARGUING! We all have something to contribute here, calling each other a liar doesn't help anyone.

Thank you JC, your points are well taken. I too hate to see the fighting and as I have said before we are all together in this stressing situation and fighting doesn't help. It also doesn't look good to the new comers.

Hi Gang , I was not fighting at all. Mearly stating what my Gastroenderologist relayed to me about the product. Some folks can eat it with no adverse effects I am sure , and other's it becomes a poison to. I just know I won't be injesting of those things. I have enough trouble with IBS to add more to it.
Sincerely , Cody

Sorry, JC and Mary T...I think a good argument is really good for you, now and again..and I for one like to hear many sides and their arguments. Nothing like a good argument...

Ann,
I would agree that hearing both, actually all sides of any topic is wonderful. We as adults can pick and choose which apply to us and whether we agree or disagree.

HOWEVER, WHEN ONE PERSON ALWAYS STATES THEIR VIEWPOINT AS THE ONLY TRUTH AND ALWAYS DENY ANY INSITES OTHERS HAVE THIS IS DEGRADNG!

This type of behavior is not only demeaning to the author of the post. It keeps people who are readers only from posting. It keeps the dreamers away from this board entirely.
When a person posts once or twice and
leaves in anger this is not beneficial to the board. So please everyone let's appreciate everyone's viewpoints.

Cody, Thanks for sharing your thoughts and hope to hear from you in the future.

Rose screamed: HOWEVER, WHEN ONE PERSON ALWAYS STATES THEIR VIEWPOINT AS THE ONLY TRUTH AND ALWAYS DENY ANY INSITES OTHERS HAVE THIS IS DEGRADNG!

Hold it down, I'm trying to sleep. Thump your bible somewhere else.

Well, Bob.
I nearly left once before and my concern for Lindsey, Cloe and Biddy as well as the beginning of the fibro board were all that kept me coming back.

So if you and Flux want this forum. Godspeed.

Rose, you are a wise and informative person. I, for one, appreciate your views.

Bob, that wasn't nice.

I think this board is made up of basically wonderful people. However, there are ALWAYS exceptions. I am interested in all opinions and have learned a lot here. One of the nice things about the net is you can be (somewhat) annonymous and come and go as you please. I know that Rose is concerned because a lot of nice people have been GOING because of the arguing which has taken place lately. I agree, Ann, arguing is good,as long as the arguing doesn't get personal (BOB). Can we make this a safe place for those of us who suffer so much with ibs in our lives?

I think we need a registered Pharmacist on this Board to inform us about things.
That way we have More medical input for these discussions. Love a good debate. Not fighting an argument , as No one wins !

Rose, Cody, Bob, Ann, HeyKate, K et al - Well, I didn't think I'd create such a response - but I'm glad I did. The common thing I keep reading from all of you is that we do need and appreciate a 'safe' place to discuss ideas, suggestions, good ideas and dead end streets. YES! We do need a registered Pharmacist 'on staff' here! What a great idea! I have a CPS manual several years old which is what the doctors use as a reference to pharmaceuticals - try to get one from your doctor (keep it quiet though!)
Regards gang,
JC

I thought that was a good suggestion and that's why I suggested it. All with good intentions only ! We have the doctor on here , why not the Pharmacist too !

I thought that I remembered one of the members of the board say that he or she was a registered pharmacist?
