I was just wondering if someone could suggest a few "safe" snacks to eat. I am getting tired of muffins and fruit. I tried popcorn, boy do I suffer today ! I dont want to eat "junk food" because it makes things worse. Please, any suggestions would be great

Hi Silver -- It depends on which type you have, C or D. I have enough trouble with regular food and don't snack much, if at all. Probably why I've lost 25 lbs in 6 months. If you have C, I would think maybe a peeled apple, orange, etc. If D, maybe try a banana (they sure constipate me) and I've read they help absorb excess fluid. You only mentioned snacks; are you able to eat foods for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I also have diverticulosis, so have to completely avoid nuts, corn in any variety (especially popped) and anything with seeds. It's amazing how much those can cut out. If you have D, try some of the Slim Fast bars and cookies. I thought they were very good, but too much fiber for me. I'm getting positively bored with food!

Silver..With all the things I cant eat, I too was looking for a snack that wouldnt kill me..and believe it or not...the baked Lays is the only snack I can eat safely. It must be because it is low in fat and is not fried. Doesnt IBS piss you off???

Try low fat snacks such as baked tortilla chips and pretzels. These usually work for me. K
