I am starting to figure out some of the culprits in my diet that are terrible gas producers. Chocolate (that one kills me in more ways than one), anything with alot of sugar, and anything with bran. I'm sure that there are alot of others but I am feeling alot better!

Just what does a low-residue diet consist of?

Clear soups and any food or beverage that has very little or no fiber.,eg. strained orange juice and apple juice. They also dare to include gelatin desserts but that is probably one of the most irritating foods I can eat because of the high sugar content, food dyes, citric acid, and the high purine content(which makes uric acid level go up). Please ask a dietician for a flyer on a low residue diet. Feel better soon. Have you read any books on ibs?
