I just heard some interesting news on T.V.tonight. They mentioned that yeast overgrowth in your guts could be a problem causing IBS, fybromyalgia, and other digestive problems. They claim they can cure your problems in 4 months. Has anyone else heard this same news and know more about it?

Who is this mysterious "they"? Was this really a news program, or one of those advertorials?

They is a doctor in the U.S. He wrote a book called the yeast connection. He claims that too much yeast in your body, affects the way you feel and could cause allergies, chronic fatigue, IBS and other chronic health issue. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the diet he suggests. No yeasty food, apparently very hard to follow.

The book is largely a hoax.

I have the book, not really much "real" info, but at least something to think about. I asked my Dr. about yeast possibilities, he said he REALLY didn't think so He said that USUALLY only happens with imuno depressed people, like people with AIDS or that have had major major surgery or illness and have been in the hospital.

Don't know if this is really true... just some more info.

I read this book. While I was in France, my doctor over there evidently read it too. We tried a regimen of increasing doses of nystatin. In the end, there was no difference.
