hi doc
konsyl king here:
what are the benefits of taking fiber everyday,what else does it do for you? is it just used for ibs,or do non ibs people use it to?
can you skip a few days?

In IBS, fiber is most useful in the treatment of constipation, probably somewhat useful for the D and not of great benefit for cramps. In the US, we could probably all stand a bit more fiber in our diets. Supplemental dietary fiber has been shown to provide some reduction in blood cholesterol and may reduce the risk of colon cancer (the data for the latter are epidemiologic rather than experimental).
